Christopher Sweet

Christopher Chris T. Sweet, 39, of Cleveland, died suddenly Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Fairview Hospital. Born in Sayre, PA on January 25, 1970, he was the son of Eugene and Gail Warner Sweet. Christopher graduated from Ashland High School and was a resident of Ashland until 2005. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Desert Storm and was a member of the Amvets, VFW and the American Legion. Christopher was working toward becoming a surgical technician and was employed by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he helped many people. After his death, he was an organ donor.

In July of 2007, he married Shamode Wimberly. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Madeline Sweet and two sons, Gabriel and Garrett Sweet all of Ashland. He is also survived by his mother, Gail Sweet of Ashland; sister, Julie Matt Hicks of Perrysville; brother, Todd Trish Sweet of Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Sweet and a son, Luke Sweet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, conducted by Pastor Bill Schaefer. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the family on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the Chamber Funeral Home, Cleveland and Thursday, December 10, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland.
