
Clarence Dalenberg, 82, of Mansfield, died Saturday morning, June 23, 2007 at Med Central Mansfield following an extended illness. Born July 3, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI, he was the son of Russel and Clarice Johanson Dalenberg. Clarence retired from the Mansfield City Schools Maintenance Dept. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, charter member of VFW Post #7651, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. Clarence enjoyed restoring antique cars, gardening and buying and repairing snow blowers.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Gerger Dalenberg; one son, James Dalenberg of Ashland, four daughters, Joyce and Mark Roberts of Galion, Jean and John Zeigler of Lee's Summit, MO, Jacilyn Dalenberg of Wooster, Joan and Larry Leeth of Ringgold, LA; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy and William Eilenfeld and Carol Dalenberg, both of Mansfield; one brother, Earl and Gilda Dalenberg of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and brother, Erwin and his wife Margaret Dalenberg.
There will be a memorial service Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Foundation for Education or donor's choice. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
