
Clarence 'Doug' Dotson, 65, of Mansfield, died June 29, 2007 at Hospice House in Ashland. Born March 7, 1942 in Clintwood, Virginia, he was the son of Clarence H. and Clemmie A. Rose Dotson. Mr. Dotson served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He worked for MANCI as a security guard. A lifetime member of the Amvets Post #26, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and participating in dart leagues.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Randy Frizzell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one son, Lincoln Starr Pickens Dotson of Mansfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Jeanie Dotson of Mansfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Raymond Bond of Greenwich; four grandchildren, Jordan and Kathryn Frizzell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Garrett and Gracie Dotson of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Darrin Scott Dotson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors where military services will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 in appreciation for helping Mr. Dotson's grandson, Jordan Frizzell through a successful battle with leukemia.
