

Clifford H. Harris, 81, of Lucas, passed away early Sunday morning, October 23, 2016, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville. He was born January 14, 1935, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Robert Harris and Helen (Harris) Iceman.
A lifelong resident of Lucas, he attended Lucas High School, lettering in baseball and singing in the choir and a quartet. Cliff was class President for three years. He worked at several factory jobs until 1957 when he opened his own company, Harris Contractors, working there until his retirement. Cliff was a jack of all trades and very handy at tackling any situation that needed fixing.
Outgoing, honest, and humble with a high level of integrity, everyone knew they could count on Cliff. He loved children and even built a softball field in his back yard for his children. Cliff enjoyed playing softball, camping and boating, especially taking his boat to Lake Cumberland. His life revolved around his children and grandchildren.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Kathaleen Smith Harris, whom he married on November 21, 1956. He also is survived by his treasured children, Jeffrey Harris (Joyce Smith), Judith (Bill) McKinnon and Joel Todd Harris (Chris Stoner); cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Touby) Bender, Carley Harris (Casey Benavidas), Drew Harris, Amy (Shawn) Dailey, Sara (Skip) Hursh and Brandon Brown (Jen Jeffery); and adorable great-grandchildren, Parker Benavidas, Brooke and Logan Hursh, Connor and Chloe Dailey, Anna Jeffery, and Austin Brown. He is also survived by a brother, Clarence "Joe" (Rose) Harris; aunt, Betty Feazel; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Shenberger and Linda Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by stillborn twin sisters; maternal grandparents, Maude and Harry Hebel, who cared for him the majority of his young life; and step father, Harley Iceman, whom Cliff considered his dad.
A special thank you to the entire staff at Colonial Manor Health Care Center for the wonderful care given to Cliff during his stay.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Patrick Bailey will be held in the funeral home, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Lucas, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Manor Health Care Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
