
Clifford R. "C.R." "Hipshot" Henthorn, Jr., 69, Lexington, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Morrow County Hospital in Mt. Gilead. Born July 27, 1938 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, he was the son of Clifford Sr. and Edna P. Peppard Henthorn. He retired from a long career in the welding field and spent his time relaxing and enjoying time with his family and friends. He was best known for his gentle charm, great sense of humor, and willingness to help others no matter what the cost or effort. He touched the hearts and lives of many and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betty Martikan Henthorn, whom he married July 17, 1989 on Lake Michigan under a willow tree; two sons, Robert Tammy Henthorn of Pampa, Texas, and David Yoby Henthorn of Wasila, Alaska; two daughters, Tina Jason Meadows Foreman of Lexington, and Donna Luke Walker of Ft. Lewis, Washington; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Anson, Tamra, Angela, Jherod, Aja, Dale, and Travis; three great-grandchildren, Daphne, Dakota, and Savannah; brothers, Don Kaye Henthorn, and Jim Moore; sisters, Betty Kenneth Starnes, Gena Faye Bud Hart, and Nancy Jeff Rissy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth E. Foreman II; daughter, Cynthia Henthorn; great-grandson, Ethan; and brother, Joe Henthorn.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Chas Carlisle. Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Burial Detail will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
