

Danny graduated from Madison High School in 1966 and started working at a young age as a caddie. He worked for various companies in the Mansfield area and later worked for the Mansfield City Schools for almost 20 years as a custodian. Danny loved his family and friends immensely and showed it with an abundance of patience, kindness and laughter. He was always full of life and had a great sense of humor. Danny was a great guy, loved by many, and volunteered his time. Danny loved to bowl and was an avid golfer; he won many tournaments. Danny also enjoyed watching the airplanes and jets out at Mansfield Lahm Airport. Danny was a member of the Elks, Sons of Herman, Bowling Clubs and Association, Mansfield Schools Employee Association, Ohio Education Association, and the National Education Association.
Danny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Kaye Boyce of Mansfield, Ohio; his daughter, Shelly Danette Boyce-Sumler of Mansfield, Ohio; one grandson, Cody Russell Boyce; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Danette Sumler; two sisters, Constance "Connie" Elaine (Bob Eugene) Charles of Bellville, Ohio and Della J. (William Clifford) Sampsel of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Glen Albert Boyce, Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Marcella June (Jim Reed) Price of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many very good friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Bonnie Sue Boyce; and his niece, Diana Rae Lumadue.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Tony Viscioni will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Myers Cemetery, Shelby, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
