

David Haycook, 46, of Mansfield, formerly of Lucas, died unexpectedly at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus on Thursday, May 31, 2001. He was born February 6, 1955, to the late Almond and Ethyl M. Parr Haycook in Crawford County. Mr. Haycook was employed as a supervisor for Richland County Adult Probation since October 1, 1997. He also was currently serving as Deputy Chief Probation Officer for Richland County. He was instrumental in developing monitoring devices to track offenders; a system used by both the county and municipal courts. Mr. Haycook attended the Mansfield Faith Assembly Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodges in Mansfield and Bucyrus, Ohio Chief Probation Officers Association, and the American Probation and Parole Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, attorney, N. Jeanne Pitzer; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Ellen Haycook and Allen and Marilyn Haycook, all of Bucyrus; one nephew, Terry Workman; one niece, Sherry Love; and special friends with whom he worked, Eric Winbigler, Kevin Ackley and David Leitenberger. His parents, and one sister, Carolyn Enders, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, June 3 from 2-6 p.m. They may also call at the Mansfield Faith Assembly Church, 2727 Lexington Avenue on Monday from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 4 at 12 p.m. at Mansfield Faith Assembly Church conducted by Pastor Joe Perry.
