
David L. Kick, 68, of Mansfield died Monday afternoon, April 21, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a five-month illness. David was born February 2, 1935 in Mansfield to Ernest Lloyd and Dorothy A. Feick Kick. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and Ashland College. He was employed as a goldsmith with Laubscher's Jewelry. David formerly taught school in the area. He was the first resident director of the Mansfield Playhouse. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of the AmVets Robert P. Spreng Post #26 and the B.P.O.E. #56. He was an artistic, creative man who enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen L. Long Kick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Michael Zinobile of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Emily and Danny Baker of Bellville, Ohio; one grandson, Joshua 'Bubba' Baker of Bellville; one granddaughter, Kendal Baker of Bellville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and George Neu of California; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Lloyd and Dorothy Kick.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, April 24 from 5-7 p.m. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
