
David Ralph Stimens, 74, of Cleveland, died on August 3, 2006. He was born on April 29, 1932 in Mansfield, Ohio to Robert and Mary Basting Stimens. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956 aboard the USS McGowan DD678, and went on to design specialized packaging equipment in Cleveland, Texas, New Jersey and South Carolina. Dave was a strong, loving, smart, independent man with a great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his father, brother Don and an infant sister. He is survived by his mother of Mansfield; his children, Wayne Janet of Colorado, Amy Chris McCall and Michael Deborah all of South Carolina; grandchildren, Abby, Kaitlin, Sarah, Ashley, Kyle and Garrett; sisters, Mary Alice Komives of Mansfield and Lillian Hoover of Florida; niece, Kelly Hoover of Akron; and many relatives around Mansfield and across the country.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 10, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service, which will be followed by internment at Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333. Cremation has taken place.
