

Deloris Fay Brain, 89, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, in Mansfield. She was born on April 25, 1935, to the late Walter and Amanda (Fry) Marcum, in Wilsondale, West Virginia.
Deloris worked in the TOW Division of US Steel, later American Steel & Wire. She enjoyed bowling and was an excellent cook. Deloris cared for her beloved dog, Addie-May. A woman of faith, she attended Crossroads Church in Mansfield.
Deloris was devoted to her family and always made them a priority in her life. She especially loved preparing for family gatherings and cookouts. She dearly missed her late husband of 48 years, Kenneth Brain. With the support of her grandson, Matthew, she was proud to live independently, even in her late years.
Deloris is survived by her son, Dave Brain of Lakewood, OH; grandson, Matthew Brain of Mansfield; brother, Roscoe (Juanita) Marcum; in-laws, Beth Marcum, William Brain of Brookpark, OH, Carol Lorig of Cleveland, Brenda Brain of Medina, and Shirley (Robert) Cates of Brooklyn, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brain; brothers, Willis “Bill” (Mary) Marcum, William Jennings Marcum, Donald (Katherine) M. Marcum, Walter Marcum Jr., Jarvy (Peggy) G. Marcum, Deryl Marcum, and Robert L. Marcum; and her in-laws, Helen Krasowski, Janet Brain, Bob Lorig, Gordon Brain, Alfred Brain Jr., and Kaedon Brain.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Deloris will be laid to rest at the Western Reserve National Cemetery Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:45 a.m.
