Dennis "Buddy" Collins

Dennis "Buddy" Collins, 54, of Mansfield, passed away early Thursday morning, November 10, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born March 8, 1962, in Crestline, Ohio, and was a lifelong area resident.

Buddy was always smiling or working to make someone else smile. His jovial demeanor brightened the day of everyone around him. He was a 1984 graduate of Richland Newhope. In his younger years, he enjoyed working puzzles, playing cards, fishing every now and again, and camping. Buddy was a member of Boy Scout Troop #123 and worked at Newhope Industries. Most of all, he enjoyed being around his family and creating wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

Buddy is survived by his father, Jack Collins, Sr. of Mansfield; four siblings, Jack (Staci) Collins, Jr., Bill Collins, Bob (Liz) Collins and Jenny (Brian) Dickerson, all of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Sandy Collins of Mansfield; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his close friends at Richland Newhope and Watts Group Home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Louise Lee Collins; and brother, Tom Collins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Ontario Cemetery with visitation in the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions honoring the life of Buddy may be made to Richland Newhope, 314 Cleveland Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
