Dennis C. Reid, aged 81, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6th after a lengthy illness. Denny was born on September 24, 1933 to Paul and Gertrude Reid. He graduated from Mansfield Senior in 1951 and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1960. After working for several area employers, he joined the Ontario Police Department in 1966. While with OPD he received numerous awards and citations, and rose through the ranks to Captain before leaving the department to become a Ohio State Parole officer in 1987. He served the State for another 13 years, again receiving numerous awards before his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by his siblings, Rod Reid, Larry Reid, and Linda Rivers: as well as by his children, Paula and Timothy Reid: and his companion Eileen Wolfe.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vi: his parents: and a beloved aunt, Francis Dillon.
