Devakiammal Govindarajan, 80, of Ashland, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born January 8, 1928, in Salem, India, she was the daughter of T. Muthupalani and Rukmani Chettiar. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, S.G. Jayagopal of New York; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kausalya and K.C. Krishnamurthi of Ashland, Rajeswari and S.N. Rajaram of Columbus, Saraswathi and R. Kandasamy of Salem, India and Parvathi and P. Prithviraj of Sandusky; grandchildren, Venketesh and Ramesh Krishnamurthi, Lakshmi Srinivasan, Priya Kalathia, Rajan Rajaram, Radha Rajasekar, Anand Kandasamy, Arun Kandasamy, Amrita Jayagopal, Rupa Jayagopal and Preethum Prithviraj; six great grandchildren; one sister and four brothers in India.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, S.V. Govindarajan; and one son, S.G. Srinivasan.
Private services for family and friends will be held at the convenience of the family. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
