Diane was affectionately known as "Cookie Grandma" and was a devoted mother and affectionate grandmother. She worked as a nurse for eighteen years. Some of the things that Diane enjoyed were bird watching, crafting, and visiting the casinos to gamble. Diane was a friend to many but was an inspiration to all she came in contact with.
She is survived by her children, Rob (Angie) Sturgill of Perrysville, Tammie (Mike) Flickinger of Ashland, and Veronica Sturgill of Ashland; grandchildren, Lex, Raylee, Gabe, Gwen, Elli and Robbie; siblings, Lowell, Deb, Donna, Dean, and Cheryl; numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces; great nephews; and a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ellen Coon; brother, Bob; and sister, Caryl.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 44 Britton Street West Salem, OH 44287. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family of Diane Sturgill.
