

Dixie Lee Baran, 71, of Mansfield, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 12, 2018 surrounded by her family. Dixie was born on December 16, 1946 in Beallsville, Ohio. She was the daughter of Ora and Dessie (Smith) Riley.
Dixie was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. Her family brought her much joy in life and she loved every minute she spent with them. Dixie enjoyed traveling to her second home in Naples, Florida soaking in the sun. She liked crocheting, visiting casinos and cheering on the Cleveland Cavs, Cleveland Indians, and the Cleveland Browns.
Dixie leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Gregory Baran; children, Kelly (Mark) Tromba, Stephanie (Frank) Wallingford, Andrew Baran (Donna Bye), and Casey (Michael) Makowski; grandchildren, Samantha, Victoria, Riley, Grace, Savannah, Jackson, Christian and Gabriel; mother, Dessie Riley; brothers, Jerry (Phoebe) Riley, Thomas (Joanne) Riley, and Rodger (Nellie) Riley; sisters, Bonnie White, Patsy (Russell) Chesbro, and Bobbie (Frank) Chesbro; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Family and friends may visit from 5:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. The funeral service in honor of Dixie will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery.
