
Donald E. Earley, age 64, of Mansfield, died late Tuesday evening March 30, 2004 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Earley was born May 26, 1939 in New Matamoras, Ohio living in the Mansfield area since1964. He retired from Sprint and taught at Wayne County Career Center. Mr. Earley was Past Commander and member of Amvets #26; Sertoma, and was a ham radio operator with his call letters being KB8KVK. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as radioman aboard the USS Tidewater and the USS Douglas H. Fox. Don was proud to be a destroyer sailor. Mr. Earley was a donor of his organs to Lifeline of Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Mickey Malmstrom Earley; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Symantha Earley of Bellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann & David Allen of North Canton, Ohio; two step-daughters and a step-son-in-law, Heather & Scott Wendland of Mansfield, Heidi Augustine of Maumee, Ohio; five grandchildren, Christopher, Kayla, Emma, Trevor & Elyssa; a sister and brother-in-law, Patsy & Chuck Anguish of Minerva, Ohio; a special friend, Julie Earley of Mansfield; a host of friends; his in-laws, Linda Malmstrom of Mansfield and Greg & Toni Malmstrom of Holiday, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Eugene & Blanche Lena Brown Earley Catich; two brothers, Delmas & Ronald Earley; and his stepfather, Nick Catich.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Dr. Wray C. Smith. Military graveside services will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lifeline of Ohio.
