
Donald J. Giummo 'Gumby', 56, of Greenwich, died Friday afternoon, June 11, 2004 at his home following an extended illness. He was born June 27, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph and Dominica Giardina Giummo living in the area since 1985. Donald worked as a Runway Light Technician for Manairco and was an electrical engineer. Donald also worked as a Professor at Pioneer Joint Vocational School. He was a jack of all trades, anything you wanted done, just ask him and he could do it. He gave more of himself than he ever did for himself.
He is survived by his life partner, Leona Morris; children, Donald Joseph Giummo, Anthony Robert Giummo, Thomas Craig Giummo all of Michigan, Marcy and her husband, John I. Ison of Mansfield, and David Rodger Rose II, and his wife, Sarah, of Dunkirk; three granddaughters, Corrine Mauria Giummo, Taylor Marie Rose, and Kiah Lorraine Ison; two grandsons, Dalton Ira Ison and Austin David Rose; a brother, John Joseph Giummo of Sandusky; a sister, Linda Lee Koch of Michigan; five nieces, Angie Marie Giummo, Jennifer Lynn Giummo, Teresa Marie Giummo, Dominica Mary Giummo and Jennifer Lynn Kidd; and three nephews, Mitchell Joseph Giummo, Jason Dominic Giummo and William Joseph Koch. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Monday, June 14, 2004 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service conducted by Rev. Bruce Copley, will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
