
Donald E. Keating, 75, of Mansfield died unexpectedly Wednesday February 20, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Mr. Keating was born February 12, 1927 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania to Lewis and Bertha Marie Weaver Keating. He was a resident of the Mansfield-Ashland area most of his life. Donald was a member of Grace Bible Church in Lucas and retired from Mansfield Steel & Supply. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and with the Military Police during the Nuremberg Trials.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Beidelscheis Keating; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Jim Heckman of Omaha, Neb.; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patti Street of Florida; three stepchildren and their spouses, Edward and Patricia Beidelschies of Mansfield, Jane and Butch Forrest of Pickerington, Ohio, and JoAnne and Dale Forrest of Mantua, Ohio; sister, Alyce O'Boyle of Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. His parents, first wife, Evelyn Payne Keating, son, Larry Street and brother, Robert all preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, February 24 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Grace Bible Church in Lucas, Monday at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Charles Barnhill with additional calling one hour prior. Military graveside services will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church.
