
Donald Tabor, 69, of 1519 Beal Road died Sunday morning, January 5, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield after an extended illness. Mr. Tabor was born March 7, 1933 in Terre Haute, Indiana to William & Bertha Riggs Tabor living in the Mansfield area since 1954. He retired from the Gorman-Rupp Company. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Tabor enjoyed fishing, drawing, and playing the bass guitar and piano. He was a quietly devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved and cared for his family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Tabor; four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald & Teresa Tabor of Mansfield, Gregory M. & Sally ''Kathy'' Tabor of Galion, Jeffrey S. & Brenda Tabor of Mansfield and Brian Tabor and his fiancee, Sharon Cornell of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Donald Jr. & Regina Tabor, Amber Nicole Tabor and Becky Dean, all of Mansfield; six step grandchildren, Heath Watkins, Jodi Harris, Amanda and Scott Steagall, Jessica Vogel and Chase Cornell; nine step great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Christian, Cadelyn, Johnathan, Sarah, Adrianna, Zach, Mirand and Megan; a brother and sister-in-law, Augustus & Catherine Tabor of Terre Haute, Indiana; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann & Roy Kindred of Terre Haute, Indiana and Lois & Perry Hall of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Ronald Herbrand. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill, Frank, Harold and Marion Tabor; a sister, Clara Freeland; and a daughter-in-law, Andrea Hook Pabor.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, 1080 W. Longview Avenue conducted by Rev. Michael White. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
