
Doris Marie Bridges, 87, died Saturday afternoon November 3, 2007 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born January 7, 1920 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Alfred Eugene and Blanche Josephine Waldsmith Kleinknecht. Doris graduated from Shiloh High School in 1938. She married Harlon Bridges on January 26, 1945. She retired from Bellville Gorman Rupp and was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Mansfield. For the past 37 years she has been a member of TOPS. She was a very astute individual, keeping her mind sharp with statistical information on her beloved Cleveland Indians. Doris was affectionately known by grandchildren and great grandchildren as 'Grandma Sweetie.'
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Bill Fields of Butler, OH and Joyce Ken Hubert of Mansfield; one son James Vera Bridges of Mt. Vernon, OH; grandchildren, Scott Kim Fields of Mt. Vernon, OH, Shane Kathy Fields of Fredericktown, OH, Skyler Carla Fields of Centerburg, OH, Sherrod Fields of Bexley, OH, Sadie Brandon Mowry of Mansfield, Maggie Jason Freeman of Butler, OH, Lacie Hubert of Mansfield, James Bridges, Jr. Jamie of Mansfield; Sarah, Luke, Matthew and Rebecca Bridges of Mt. Vernon, OH; seventeen great grandchildren and one sister, Gladys Deppe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Erma Monn, two brothers, Albert and Jacob Kleinknecht, two great grandsons, Tyler Fields and Lee Jordan Freeman.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 6, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home by Rev. Michael Stine. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
