Doris M. Butler, 81, of Mansfield, died Monday, November 6, 2006 after an extended illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by one son, John P. Butler; grandson, David Butler; and brother, William Meeker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta and Lawrence Meeker, and brother, Robert Meeker.
Her beautiful bright smile and friendly personality were the gifts she gave to those who loved her and those she just met. Doris retired from Ohio Edison in 1984 with 35 years of service. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Marilou Brook. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 426 Sherman Place.
