Doris C. Hartman

Doris C Hartman, 80, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Heartland of Centerburg. Born January 11, 1936, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Emil Wayne and Elizabeth (Schuff) Sowash.

She was a 1955 graduate of Madison Senior High and had worked for Ideal Electric and ITT/North Electric in Galion. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. An outgoing person, she loved talking to others and telling jokes. She enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, playing cards, shopping and doing crafts. She also loved her dogs, Mocha and Snickers. She treated her nieces and nephews as they were her own children and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her siblings, Maryann Davis, Fredrick (Ellen) Sowash, Robert (Diana) Sowash, William (Sandra) Sowash and Charlotte Wilson; a niece and her caregiver, Sue Perry; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Coke" Hartman; a sister, Marjorie "Perry" Gale; and two brothers, Dewey Sowash and David Sowash.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Jarod Ruark. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
