

She was a 1948 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a member of a group of ladies, they called themselves the "Anonymous", from school that have continuously gathered monthly since graduation to today. Dorothy made friends easily and loved being around people. Her take charge personality allowed her the comfort and ease of talking with everyone she met. She was most recently employed at the Ashland University bookstore but had numerous other jobs including at the Mansfield Board of Education, a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant and various other office positions over the years. She enjoyed quilting, which she started at age 80, and was a member of the Old Union Town Quilt Guild. Dorothy especially looked forward to shopping trips with her daughter.
Dorothy was a woman of great faith and attended Ashland Christian Center. She looked forward to her monthly Bible study group.
She is survived by five children, Dennis (Rhonda) Berry, Robert Berry, Elizabeth Berry, Jeff (Carol) Berry and Steve Berry; five grandchildren, Jill (Ben) May, Ray Berry, Chris (Kayla) Berry, David Berry and Hannah Berry; two great-grandchildren, Tyson and Angela; and two brothers, Tom (Thelma) Keener and Doug (Sue) Keener. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Berry, whom she married in September 1949; and brother, Martin Keener.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Blair officiating. Burial will be in Adario Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to OhioHealth Riverside Hospital Research.
