
Dorothy Elizabeth Ellis, 84, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born April 21, 1925, in Bedford, PA, she was the daughter of Lyman and Anna Gibson Snyder. She was employed as Secretary/Treasurer of Ellis Asphalt Paving. Dorothy was a member of Ridgeway Church. She loved the Cleveland Indians. She enjoyed being with her friends but especially with her family, grandchildren and beloved dog and companion, Buffy.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Doug Studer of Greenback, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Keven Ellis of Lexington, OH and Tom Carolyn Ellis of Bellville, OH; 11 grandchildren, Joel Amanda Studer, Jessica Studer, Justin Studer, Jerime Studer, Curt Patty Ellis, Brian Ellis, Jennifer Ellis, Erynn Scott Hamilton, Brock Jordan and Lindsay Wagner, Lora Holloway, Stacy Rob Dawson, Monica Ellis and Todd Aemee Ellis; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Schetrompf of Everett, PA; a brother-in-law, Bill Freese of Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews; and several special friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis F. Ellis, Jr.; a brother, Howard Snyder; and two sisters, Mabel Aronholt and Helen Feight.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the funeral home conducted by Rev. John Dodds. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mifflin Township Rescue Squad, MedCentral Hospice or the donor's choice.
