
Douglas E. Crane, 60, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born September 10, 1945, in Galion, he was the son of Bud and Mary Hollinger Crane. He was retired from MANCI after 25 years, working as a guard and plumber. Mr. Crane was a member of Venus Lodge #152, F. & A.M., Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Canton, V.F.W. Post #9943, F.O.E., Sons of Herman, Moose Lodge #303 of Galion, and the American Legion. He loved to golf and was a firefighter for the city of Galion for many years. Mr. Crane served during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri Hicks Crane; son, Doug Brenda Crane; grandsons, Casey Crane and Joey Gray; sisters, Ruth Mike Britt and family, Laura McPeek and son, Gary; sons, Bobby Geneva Powers, Ricky Joan Powers, Jimmy Linda Powers, Roy Lori Powers; daughters, Dianna Mike Chance, Dana Denny Godare, Darline Randy Dean; thirteen grandchildren, Laura Shane Sealey, Gary Beth Schlupp, Jamie, Jessica, Joey, Angie Larry Brown, Leroy, Justin, Carmen Sunny Huffman, Shawauna, Dakota, Pam, Johnny; and ten great-grandchildren, Alexa, Keelin, Cordell, Kyle, Aaliyah, Brooklyn, Ariella, James, Brittany and Tiffany.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, June 16 from 4-7 p.m. Masonic services will be observed at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Bruce Copley will be held Saturday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with additional calling from 9-10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
