

Earl T. Baker, age 65, of Mansfield, died Saturday July 24, 2004 at MedCentral/Mansfield following an extended illness. Mr. Baker was born July 27, 1938 in Fultz, KY to Herbert and Carrie King Baker. Earl had retired from Ford Motor Company in Wayne, MI after 20 years of service. Mr. Baker attended Hanna Road Church of God in Mansfield, and had attended First United Methodist Church of Belleville, MI. Earl very much enjoyed woodworking, he was a member of Local U.A.W. #900.
Surviving are his wife, Sammie Baker; two sons, Rick and Kevin Baker both of Belleville, MI; two step-daughters, Nancy Kegley of Saline, MI and Sharon Kemp of Horn Lake, Mississippi; a step-son, Kenny Kemp of Pontotoc, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Daniel, Angela, Allison, Cassandra, Kenneth, and Draven; five sisters, Jewell Meenach of Lancaster, OH, Faye Mabry of Springfield, OH, Mary Hamlin of Corbin, KY, Carmie Mabry of Mansfield, and Jean Adkins of Morehead, KY; a brother, Kenneth Baker of Morehead, KY; many friends, nieces, and nephews; and two special friends, Pam Caseman and Ronda Dunham. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Thelma Baker; one daughter, Deborah Ann; one brother, Charles Baker; and two sisters, Cora Lee Wood and Lula Belle Fraley.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday July 27, 2004 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., and also one hour prior to the funeral services. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Jason Fiffe. Graveside services will be held in Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, MI. Graveside service arrangements are in care of C & H Community Home For Funerals in Ypsilanti, MI.
