

Earl T. Cox, age 68, of Mansfield, died Wednesday morning, April 7, 2004 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. He was born November 2, 1935, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to Mark H. and Viola Blair Cox and had been a resident of Mansfield since 1955. He retired from Crane Plumbing after 34 years of service. Earl enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing, hunting, and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vicie Cox; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and Bob Burns, Kay and Bruce Orren, and Viola Walters, all of Mansfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Beverly Cox of Bellville and Clinton Cox of Mansfield; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nelson Cox of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Jack Cox of Mansfield; four sisters, Margie Garris of Mt. Gilead, LaVonna Lewis of Mansfield, Georgia Parrish of Olive Hill, and Betty Sue Johnson of Morehead, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marie Porter of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Ann Cox, three grandchildren, James Lee Cox, Jr., David Fannin, Patricia Fannin, two brothers, Allan Cox and Stanley Cox, two sisters, Loval Barker and Glendaween Barth.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, April 8 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, April 9 from 6-9 p.m. with a church service held Friday at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Elijah Wagner and Johnny Moore of Olive Hill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Herman Copley and Rev. Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
