

Edmund A. Andres Jr., age 89, died in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Mansfield, Ohio. He was born September 5, 1930 in Sandusky, Ohio to Edmund and Esther (Ritzenthaler) Andres.
Ed was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant. He also earned the Korean Service Ribbon with 2 stars, National Defense Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Ribbon and the Korean Presidential Medal. As a third generation funeral director, Ed was associated for many years with the Andres Funeral Homes in Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sally (Ball) Andres; children, Kathy Andres and Linda Worden both of Columbus and son, Stephen Edmund Andres of Huron; and six lovely granddaughters, Emily, Megan, Adeline, Penny, Iris and Josie.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Rosemary and Tissie; and brothers, Charlie and Bob, all of Sandusky.
Private services will be held for the family. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to have served the family.
