
Edward Boyd 'Big Daddy Eddie' 'Butter' Stallard, 55, of Crestline, died Friday, September 29, 2006 at OSU Medical Center. He went home to be with our Lord. Born April 18, 1951 in Mansfield, he was the son of Lovell Sr. and Jocie Jarrell Stallard. He was the owner of Stallard Arms, Inc. An entrepreneur, he established many businesses in this area. Mr. Stallard was a charter member of the Journey Life Center. A member of the NRA, he also collected knives and could fix anything. A loving and caring person, his children were very important in his life. He and his wife were foster parents and received two Distinguished Governor Awards for adoption.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Debbie Sue Carroll Stallard, whom he married July 12, 1975; 13 children, Tania McDermott Culler of Wilmington, William Haywood of Danville, Geneva M. Russell of Syracuse, New York, Sara A. Stallard of Crestline, Amanda M. Stallard of Port Clinton, Heidi S. Stallard of Crestline, Flisha D. Stallard of Mansfield, Melissa A. Stallard, Ashley N. Stallard, Edward D. Stallard, Joella M. S. Stallard, Anthony J. Stallard, and Desiree L. Stallard, all of Crestline; foster parent to numerous children, and helped raise hundreds more; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Lovell Betty Stallard of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Rev. Ronald Valerie Stallard of Elba, Alabama; sister, Loretta Hinton of Lexington; brothers-in-law, James M. Carroll, Myron Kathy Carroll, and Michael Carroll, all of Crestline; sisters-in-law, Frances Bauer of Crestline, Shirley Tom Deeb of Crestline, and Kathy Richard Weaver of Ontario; mother-in-law, Margaret Carroll; grandchildren, Jessica Haywood of Danville, Maria Russell of Syracuse, New York, Julianna McCoy, and Leilah McCoy, both of Crestline; and a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Marion 'Hoot' Carroll.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Journey Life Center 2578 St. Rt. 39 NW. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church conducted by Dr. Bruce A. Philippi. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
