Eleanor M. McElvain, 71, of Johnsville, died Monday, August 20, 2007, at her home. Born December 19, 1935 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Orley V. 'Mike' and Velma S. Motter Mawhorr. Eleanor was a 1953 graduate of Union High School and retired from Bank One where she worked in the accounting department. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting clocks, salt and pepper shakers and plates.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Gene McElvain; two daughters, Amy McElvain of Mansfield and Connie Paul Gleisinger of Ontario; son, Eric Krissy McElvain of Johnsville; two grandchildren, Justin Chaffin and Erica McElvain; one great-granddaughter, Jaydyn Chaffin; and three step grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her son, Dean McElvain; parents; sister, Patricia Eyerly; and nephew, Timothy Eyerly.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, August 24 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, conducted by Dr. Faith Proietti.
