Elizabeth A. Amos, 81, of Mansfield, died November 25, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born April 14, 1930 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of John and Johanna (Leitenberger) Stecher. Elizabeth was a member of First Assembly of God and loved Southern Gospel music. She retired as an inspector from Therm-O-Disc after 35 years and was a member of the 25 Year Club. Elizabeth was also a 50 year member of the Daughters of Herman. She had an interest in rabbits and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins along with her loving neighbors and special friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude “Jack” Amos and her brother, Jacob Erndt.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God, 1000 McPherson St., Mansfield, conducted by Rev. Thomas Blair. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God to provide youths the opportunity to attend church camp.
