
Elizabeth Rose 'Libby' Denig Kaup, 73, of 644 Scholl Road died Wednesday morning, April 18, 2001 at SCCI Hospital. Mrs. Kaup was born November 23, 1927 in Mansfield, Ohio. She graduated from St. Peter's High School, moved to California in 1954 and returned to Mansfield in 1968. She worked as an executive secretary for Mansfield Tire and Southern Pacific Railroad in San Francisco, California. Mrs. Kaup was the first female law librarian of Richland County where she retired after 17 years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mrs. Kaup was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her interests included reading, cooking and entertaining, dancing, and boating at Pleasant Hill and Lake Erie. She was an avid supporter of the Indians, Buckeyes, and Browns. Her love, kindness, generosity and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by a son, Christian Eric Kaup of San Francisco, California; a daughter Kathleen Marie and son-in-law, Joey Gary and grandson, Jules Alexander Gary of Lorain; two sisters, Martha Wentz and Rita Blubaugh, both of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Rose Kaiser Denig; her husband, Richard Joseph Kaup; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Denig; and a sister, Mary Worley.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church conducted by Father Herb Weber. Burial will be held at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
