
Elizabeth Eder, 96, of Mansfield, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at her home. Born March 20, 1914 in Franzfeld, Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of Franz and Kristine Schoessler Dinger. She has lived in Mansfield since 1955, arriving from France. Elizabeth was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Elizabeth was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting newborn caps for babies at the hospital, quilting at church, and cooking. At Christmas time, she loved sharing the goodies she made with family and neighbors. Elizabeth was a past member of the Liederkranz where she enjoyed polka dancing with her husband.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Gisela Eder of Mansfield; grandchildren, Tiffany and Tammi; and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany and the United States; and her special pal, Petey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wilhelm K. Eder; three sisters, Christina, Katerina, and Susanna; three brothers, Andreas, Frank, and Adam; and granddaughter, Nicole. A special thank you to Cathy Benedict for coming to Elizabeth's home for the past ten years to do her hair.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Ron Daley. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
