
Emmer J. McBride, age 71, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at his residence in Mansfield following a short illness. The son of the late Russell and Beatrice McBride, he was born in Mansfield, Ohio and was an area resident most of his life. Mr. McBride graduated from Mansfield Sr. High School in 1947. He was a meat cutter for the Kroger Co., Frizzell's and other area meat markets. He was formerly part owner of The Point and an active member of the F.O.E. #336, VFW Post 3494, Sons of Herman #14, and Order of Owl 1152.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ruth McBride of Hayesville; two daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Joey Hopkins of Mansfield and Cindi Bechtel of Brandon, FL; five grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Brian Johnson, Lea and Scott Bowling, James and Melanie Hopkins, Kelly Bechtel and Shane Bechtel; ten great grandchildren, five boys and five girls; a sister, Mona Mae Reed of Bellville; two sisters-in-law, Doris McBride of Marion, and Alline McBride of Mansfield; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends in the United States and Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Marvin and Russell, Jr. McBride. We would like to express a special thanks to all of his friends who were so supportive and helpful in his last days. We will all miss him so very much.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday, February 27th from 5-9 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev.
