

Esther M. Spicer Carr Dunn Eicher, 85, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Lexington Court Care Center after an extended illness. Born April 20, 1919, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Theresa Wappner Spicer, and graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1937. A lifelong resident of Mansfield, Esther owned and operated a beauty salon in her home. She was very active in the Eagles Local 336 Auxiliary. Esther was a Past President and served as secretary of the auxiliary for 10 years. Being a member of over 50 years, she was very proud of the Eagles and winning the Grand Aerie Ritual Championship. She also enjoyed bowling and sewing needlepoint plastic canvas crafts.
Her husband, Edward Eugene Eicher of Lexington Court survives Esther. She is also survived by sons, Paul 'Skip' H. Carr and Terry L. Connie Carr of Mansfield; sister, Susie Dick Danals of Canon City, Col.; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Spicer of Mansfield, Emma Spicer of Galveston, Tex.; grandchildren, Jon Carr of Mansfield, Joel Karen Carr of Destin, Fla., Gabrielle Dom Draper of Lexington, Jennifer Jeff Merchant of Indianapolis, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ian Carr of Bellevue, Paige and Avery Carr of Destin, Fla., Holly, Brook and Kylee Draper of Lexington; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Jack Spicer.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Mansfield Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Jerry Rhea. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors from 12-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
