

Eugene "Pops" M. Holbrook, 84, of Mansfield, died July 8, 2015. Born November 17, 1930 in Carter, Kentucky, he was the son of Harv and Gladys (Fultz) Holbrook. A veteran of both the Marine Corps and Air Force, Pops owned and operated Holbrook and Sons Construction Company from 1978-2005. In his earlier years, he loved motorcycles and camping, and later in life, he enjoyed going to the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show in Hocking Hills, Ohio. A fun loving, even tempered man, Pops was a hard working man who never knew a stranger. He was a member of the VFW on Grace Street.
Surviving are his sons, Randy Holbrook of Mansfield, Steve (Donna) Holbrook of Lexington, David Holbrook of Mansfield, and Russell (Melinda) Holbrook of Mansfield; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, H.M. Holbrook of Carter, KY and Derek (Bonnie) Holbrook of Grayson, KY; brother-in-law, Bill Ramey of Carter, KY; sister-in-law, Joan Holbrook of Denton, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Pops was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Julia (Everman) Holbrook; second wife, Betty Holbrook; sister, Lois Ramey; and brothers, Glenn Holbrook and Coy Holbrook.
There will be no services held at this time. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Eugene M. Holbrook.
