
Evelene Marie Hassig, 75, of Mansfield, died Monday, November 28, 2005. Born January 12, 1930, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Mary Lefor Gleisinger. An area homemaker her entire life, Mrs. Hassig attended Grace Brethren Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading and crafts.
She is survived by four sons and their spouses, Randall Lee Hassig and Linda Baldwin of Richmond, Texas, Michael 'Steve' and Charlene Hassig of Lexington, Thomas Arch and Kathy Hassig of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Jeffrey David Hassig of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Kitty, Angela, Allison, Jillian, Jason, Nicholas and Zachary; a great-granddaughter, Faith; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Darlene Gleisinger of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Arch F. Hassig, who died on July 14, 2003, three brothers, Peter, John Jr. and Valentine Gleisinger, and seven sisters, Barbara Dailey, Macdelene Eberle, Leanore Primmer, Katherine Crider, Mary Chapman, Bertha Long and Elizabeth Gleisinger.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, December 1 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, December 2 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Greg Creech. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
