Evelyn Schwartz

Evelyn Schwartz, 96, of Mansfield, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Heritage Care Center in Shelby where she has resided the past six years. Born December 16, 1912, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of William H, and Minnie Eggerman Schaus. She graduated from Betty Jean School of Beauty Culture on May 16, 1933 and was the owner/operator of Evelyn's Beauty Shop well into her '80's. Evelyn was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Mansfield Liederkranz. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing Bingo.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Schwartz of Ontario; three grandsons and their wives, Gregory Susan Schwartz of Twinsburg, OH, Alan Daria Schwartz of Broomfield, CO and Ben Donna Sam of Westerville; two granddaughters and their husbands, Christine Tom Mills of Ontario and Cheryl Joe Riethman of Kalamazoo, MI; ten grandchildren, Zachary and Derek Mills, Sam, Anna and William Riethman, Mallory and Cameron Schwartz and Rachel, Kendall and Kyler Sam; a sister, Florence Stehle of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Leona Schaus of Pennsylvania; and three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Schwartz on June 28, 1997; a son, Roger Lee Schwartz; and a brother, Edgar Schaus.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield, OH 44906. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Andrew Jones. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or First English Lutheran Church.
