Floyd T. Davis, 76, of Mansfield, OH, passed away on July 22nd, 2025. He was born on March 5, 1949, in Sikeston, MO, to the late Bennie and Walter Lee Davis. Floyd graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, class of 1967, and enjoyed a fulfilling career with Mansfield Tire until its closure. He then embarked on a remarkable 38-year career at CenturyLink.
In his spare time, Floyd dedicated himself to full-time ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years. He enjoyed cooking classes, gardening, taking great pride in his immaculate yard and was an avid Cleveland sports fan (He preferred Lebron over Jordan).
Floyd is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sylvia Walker Davis, and his five children, whom he fondly referred to as "The Fantastic Five": Cornell (Janice) Harris of Tacoma, WA; Subrina Davis Parker (Jackie Wilson) of Frisco, TX; Margaret Davis; Crystal Davis Weese (Donald Adkinson) of Mansfield; and Terrance Davis of Columbus, OH. He was the BEST PAPA ever to his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
He is also survived by his sisters, Lillie Taylor and Brenda (David) Williams, along with a plethora of wonderful nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his siblings: James, Verline, Roy, Bennie Jr., Emma, Freddie, Johnnie, Mary Nettles, and Minnie Churn.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The memorial service will begin at noon, taking place at Kingwood Center Gardens (Banquet Hall) in Mansfield, Ohio. Followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Floyd T. Davis Scholarship Fund.
Floyd will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
