
Franklin H. Baker, 74, of Mansfield, died Sunday, February 22, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born October 17, 1934, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Franklin S. and Elsie Erb Baker. He was formerly employed as a press operator with Westinghouse Corp. Franklin enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
He is survived by two children, Theresa Brent Perkins of Mansfield and Mike Kristin Baker of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Justin and Caitlin Perkins of Mansfield, Brianne Josh Miller of Butler and Ashley Dave Fischer of Mt. Vernon; five great-grandchildren, Cassey, Blake and Carson Miller of Butler and Shelby and Gabriel Fischer of Mt. Vernon; a brother of Mansfield; a sister of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Baker; second wife, Marlene Baker; parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail.
