Fred 'Ricky' Petty, 53 of Mansfield, died Monday September 4, 2006 following a brief illness. Ricky was born October 17, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee to Fred and Rosetta Petty. He had attended the Apostolic Church of Christ. Ricky enjoyed motorcycles and enjoyed restoring old cars.
Ricky will be sadly missed by his wife of thirty years, Bonnie Sutherland Petty. Surviving are a beloved son, Ricky Javon Petty, at home; a dear mother, Rosetta Petty of Mansfield; a brother Terry Petty of Columbus, Ohio; sisters-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law Joyce Sutherland; a father-in-law and step mother-in-law Cletus Gale and May Sutherland; and a host of good friends. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, a brother Ernest Petty, and a nephew Ryan Petty.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday September 7, 2006 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Merle Stewart will take place on Friday September 8, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
