Gary T. Robinson

Gary T. Robinson, 71, of Mansfield, passed away shortly after noon on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born September 18, 1944, in Ironton, Ohio, and was the son of the late Thomas and Naomi (Moore) Robinson.

Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Panama. He graduated from North Central Technical College with an Associate degree and retired from AK Steel after 37 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at Miami Systems in Shelby, Ohio, for a number of years. In his free time, he could be found fishing or watching his favorite Westerns on television, "Bonanza" and "Gunsmoke". He enjoyed listening to Gospel and country music.

Gary was a very caring and giving man. He loved his family dearly and will be missed greatly. Gary loved farming and was a long time member of 4H. He found peace in riding his Ferguson tractor and caring for his cattle. He was a member of Shiloh Masonic Lodge #544, a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton.

Gary is survived by three children, Gary Robinson II, Ronald Robinson and Adriana Robinson; adopted daughter, Cher; granddaughter, Caitlynn; grandson, Troy; sister, Linda (Ron) Lyme; brothers, Roger, Jack, Ronald, Steven, and Michael (Linda) Robinson; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna E. (Nicholson) Robinson; mother-in-law, Adriana Rivera Nicholson; father-in-law, Ernesto Nicholson; and sisters-in-law, Mary Robinson and Clara Robinson.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Masonic services will be recited at 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Copley officiating. Burial in Mansfield Cemetery will follow with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral costs.
