

Jae graduated from Madison High School in 1992 and was employed as a carpenter for a private contractor. His carpentry skills were excellent and he was known for the quality of his projects. Jae was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Fishing, hunting, being outdoors, and working on cars were just a few of his favorite activities. He had a huge appreciation for music. Jae was spontaneous and optimistic, always looking at the bright side of a situation. His concern for other's happiness will long be remembered. Jae was very excited for the upcoming birth of his first grandchild due to arrive in July.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Payton of Mansfield; five children, Remmington Thompson, Trevor Schoenman, Aubrae Schoenman, Garrett Schoenman, and Ethan Schoenman, all of Mansfield; a brother, Walt Schoenman of Mansfield; sister, Angie Schoenman of Mansfield; grandparents, Robert and Bonnie Burkepile of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; and the love of his life, Sarah Schoenman of Mansfield.
Jae is preceded in death by his father, Gary Schoenman, Sr.; and his grandparents, Charles and Lillian Schoenman.
There will be no services or visitation at this time. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
