

Gary E. Taylor, 63, of Bellville, entered the arms of Heaven into the open arms of his beloved wife, Lucy, Saturday morning, December 10, 2016, at his home. He was born May 20, 1953, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Raymond Leroy Taylor and Ann Louise Ziway Taylor.
Gary was a semi driver and business operator. On January 6, 1979, he married the love of his life, Lucy, and they shared a love of entrepreneurship. He and Lucy had previously operated Bingo at 40 et 8. Looking for a new venture, they opened Taylor Diner at the corner of Springmill St. and Trimble Rd. Gary continued driving during this time. A few years later, he opened Lucy's Diner on Park Avenue West. They operated the diner until the tragic passing of Lucy, who lost her life when a drunk driver drove through their home.
He is survived by a brother, Ray (Jonelle) Taylor, Jr.; two sisters, Barb (Lawrence) Smith and Sharon (Steve) Kyler; ten nieces and nephews, John, Melissa, Teri, Keri, Jeremy, Johnny, Kory, Jody, Shari and Lee; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Lucille Cline Taylor, on December 6, 2007; and sister, Shirley Cassity.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home for the benefit of the family. A luncheon celebrating the life of Gary will be held at Faith Chapel, 674 Hanna Rd., Mansfield, following the service.
