Gerald "Gary" Franklin Burdine Jr., 51, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 from injuries received in a car accident in Morrow County, Ohio. He was born October 30, 1965, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Gerald Franklin Burdine and Carol Butcher.
Gary was a hard worker and was very skilled in construction. His best friend, Perry Johnson, was a mentor throughout his career. He was a Mansfield area resident most of his life. Gary was a bit hard-headed and stubborn, but had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need. A huge NASCAR fan, he closely followed the career of the legendary Dale Earnhardt, driver of the #3 car. In his free time, he enjoyed racing, motorcycles, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Tinkell, Destiny Burdine and Shannon Burdine; four grandchildren, Jaden, Joella, Thomas and James; his mother, Carol (Lutz) Butcher; three brothers, Sean, Scott and Brian; and three sisters, Nicole, Cyrstal and Theresa. He was preceded in death by his father; ex-wife and friend, Holly Jo Burdine; and brother, James Burdine.
