

Gerald "Jerry" Leo Evans, 82, of Lucas, Ohio, passed away at his home on Friday, October 9, 2020. He was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1938 to the late Earl and Claire (Billotte) Evans.
Jerry was fun, had a great sense of humor and loved people, never meeting a stranger. Having a big heart for others, he was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially traveling as a family to the Outer Banks. He also loved working on his Studebaker cars and attending car shows with his wife. Jerry was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge #56, Sons of Herman, Studebaker Drivers Club and a past member of Lucas Lions Club.
Jerry is survived by his children, Gary (Hope) Evans, Kathy (Steve) Neel, Dan (Terri) Evans and Jenni Evans (Timothy Bash); 14 grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Katie Easterday Snyder; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Mary Lou) Evans; sister, Mary E. Evans; brother-in-law, James Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, E. Kay Evans; daughter, Cynthia Easterday; brother, Edmond (Mary Ellen) Evans; and sister, Carol Perkins.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the Mansfield Elks Lodge #56, 499 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH 44906. An Elks memorial service in Jerry's honor will occur at 1:30 p.m., followed by his grandson, Jon Vega's dedication to his grandpa. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to have served the family.
