
Glen C. Hammond, 55, of Mansfield died Wednesday evening, October 8, 2003 at Scenic View Castle Nursing Home in Millersburg, Ohio as a result of a motorcycle accident two years ago. Mr. Hammond was born July 7, 1948 in Louisa, Kentucky living in the Mansfield area the past 40 years. He retired in 2000 from General Motors after 32 years. Glen enjoyed traveling around the U.S. on his Harley-Davidson. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Noreen K. Norris Hammond of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Glen I. & Shelley Hammond of Ontario; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy Hammond and Charmin & Andy Pryor, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Eric Hall, Matt Hall, Luke Simmons, Zachary Simmons, Haley Hammond, James Simmons, Kyleigh Hammond, Seth Hammond, Emily Pryer and AnnDrew Pryor; his mother, Anna Brooke Fields Hammond; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny & Kathy Hammond, George & Barb Hammond, Rick Hammond, Henry Hammond, Johnny Hammond, Guy Hammond and Kevin Hammond; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy & Waldo Hall and Mary & Rick Berry; a brother-in-law, Harold Gene Norris; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jack & Lori Messer. He was preceded in death by his father, George Odoff Hammond; and a brother, Bobby Hammond.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Danny Dickerson of the Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
