Greg graduated from Lexington High School and attended Ohio University, where he was a member of the golf team. After college, he was employed as a caddy at PGA International in West Palm Beach, Florida. Greg also trained race horses, traveling all over the United States. He was an avid sportsman who especially enjoyed golf, horse racing, and following the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He was a favorite uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
Greg is survived by his mother, Joyce Weidig; siblings, Kathy Weidig and Mark (Maribeth) Weidig; nephews, Ryan Dinkel and Spencer Weidig; and nieces, Emily and Kate Weidig. He was preceded in death by his father, John Weidig.
Friends and family may visit from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A Memorial Mass will be recited Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
