Helen M. Klein, 79, of Mansfield died Friday evening, December 13, 2002 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. Mrs. Klein was born April 12, 1923 in Mansfield to Joseph and Elizabeth Mohler Karbula and was an area resident most of her life. At the time of her retirement, she was employed as head chef with Woodlawn Health Care and Rehabilitation Center after working as chef in many local establishments.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol VanLehn; a son, Lawrence E. Klein; grandchildren, Lezlee Powell of Florida, Kelly VanLehn, Karla Klein and Jason Klein; brother, George Karbula of Mansfield; four sisters, Anna Clark of Galion, Rebecca Ortman of South Carolina, Kathryn 'Kitty' Mangan of Florida; and Ruth Dillon, and a niece, Kathleen Kline;. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Karbula; six brothers, Joseph, Jr., George, Albert, David, Nicholas and Adam; and four sisters, Margaret, Elisebeth Boles, Mary Reis, and Esther Johnson.
Graveside services will be observed Monday, December 23, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Mansfield Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Bruce Copley. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
