
Helen Marie Weber, 87, of Mansfield, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Helen was born November 12, 1922 in Mansfield, where she resided all her life and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in June of 1940. She participated in the Mansfield Tyger's Marching Band and was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She was an active member of the Mayflower Congregational Church for many years singing in the choir and serving on numerous committees and boards. She was also active in Women's Fellowship. Helen retired from Madison Local Schools December 1, 1982 where she worked as a teacher's aide for twelve years.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy Southward of Mansfield, and James and Linda Southward of Bellville; four stepchildren and their spouses, Walter Weber, Jr. and Madolynn Weber, William and Brenda Weber, Ron and Carolyn Gaumer, and Katherine Schacherer, all of Mansfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Shirley Holzmiller of Alberta, Canada; three granddaughters; one grandson; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; twelve step grandchildren; and twelve step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marion "Mac" Southward on February 5, 1970 and her late husband, Walter Weber, Sr., who passed away on December 30, 2008; her father, Anthony Holzmiller; and mother, Mary Kollin.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Dr. Gary Wilson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be given to Mayflower Congregational Church in Mansfield.
